Mary Chapin Carpenter

It doesn't get better than this. I absolutely looove Christmas music. And I also love the coutry/folk sound of Mary Chapin Carpenter. Hmm, if you put the two together, I may just explode! And it has happened: Mary Chapin Carpenter releases her Christmas Album for 2008: Come Darkness, Come Light; Twelve Songs of Christmas. Although there is very little darkness (that I could find).

She has some of the tried and true all-time Christmas favs like Christmas time in the City (my personal fav) and Once in Royal David's City. Mary Chapin Carpenter did sneak the "Thanksgiving Song" in there, even though it's not really a Christmas song, but there are not very many songs for my favorite holiday based on eating, so we'll let it slide.

This CD is sure to sell out well before Christmas, but why wait that long. Enjoy the sounds of the season by the end of the week!
